The Grind at Norwood is a great place because the staff will always chat with you and the owner is happy to help with all your caffeine needs. They’re nice and friendly and have great coffee. My daughter and I have been going there for 7 years and would highly recommend it.
Popped in for a coffee on a dreary autumn day. Nice little store but I was shocked to see fresh milk being added to milk that had already been textured which in my book is a no no. Coffee wasn't the worst I've had and I'm not sure if there's enough for me to return. But never say never.
I'd have to strongly disagree with the previous review. This place is doing a fine job by any coffeegeek standard. I'm new to the neighbourhood, so I'm looking for any cafes in the area that hit the mark, and this is certainly one of them. If you're looking for a place to sit and chat for hours then this is not for you, because their main business is selling high quality coffee beans, which they roast themselves. I asked the owner to recommend one for my home machine, and the one he recommended (a fair trade, organic single-origin) brewed up beautifully even on the first shot, with lovely caramel notes coming through. As for what you'll drink in store... this is likely to be their 'supacrema' blend, designed to appeal to a broad spectrum of tastes. The espresso I had in store was very well made, in what to me seemed a classic Italian blend. Overall, helpful staff, good coffeegeek-style ambience, and a huge range of beans to try at home as a bonus. You could do a whole lot worse!
This place is great. No pretending on what they are, just a straight up awesome coffee place. Great girls behind the counter always pouring good coffee with a smile. Coming in from Sydney my brother took me here and talked it up. Not disappointed. Ill be back next time I fly in.
