Located in the Adelaide Central Market, at the Gouger St end. This cafe is always busy, the reason being, excellent coffee, good options for breakfast and lunch, with great friendly service. We have stopped by this cafe on a number of occasions and have always left impressed. Not hard to understand why they are so busy. Morning papers are supplied if you want to catch the news while relaxing over a very smooth coffee. All good, will return.
Amid the hustle and bustle of Adelaide Central Market, Big Table has a real Melbourne feel to it. Seating is relaxed and communal, the service quick and friendly. Coffee was strong and full of flavour. While tempted to enjoy a second, maybe leave it for a return visit.
I hate to be disagreeable, but I've had a few bad coffee experiences here. It's a great location, with a really fascinating people-watching atmosphere. But... the staff are always distracted, more focused on being hip than getting coffees out there. My coffee took ages and then sat on the counter until I pointed out that I wanted it. I asked for a strong long black, and got a triple-shot, but it was very poorly extracted, and hard to tell why. There was little-depth of flavour, and I contemplated just leaving it, except that I'd waied so long. I know I will be trying one of the other cafes on my next market visit.
