Fantastic experience of hand roasting robusta beans from Ranong, then grinding and preparing in a Bialetti under the rubber trees! It’s remote but really worth your time. Excellent double espresso was the outcome as you can see from my happy face!

After a year of visiting this GREAT café, this, sadly, will be my last visit for a while as I'm leaving Bangkok. I asked to be surprised, and was served a light, aromatic delicate brew in Kaizen's signature glass flask. I was asked to guess and of the three (Brazil, Guatemala and Ethiopia), I sensed the latter, partly because I knew the other two...! Partner had genmai-cha and a delicious smelling pulled pork burger. As always, great coffee, excellent service by the regulars and a fantastic soundtrack. Highly, highly recommended.

Today, a jumbo latte (I ordered a regular flat white, forgetting that's not a thing in many Bangkok cafés). This place has improved its coffee making markedly in the 4 years I have been coming (on average once every 3-4 months, when I am in town), and this well-made coffee had the requisite crema, flavour and aroma, in keeping with what one comes to expect in this city now. The size apart (I'm a sipper, and a large size invariably goes cold on me), these guys blonde their stuff. Don't know what beans they use (it's not that kind of a café), but a strong well-made coffee is always welcome.

First: a lovely string creamy smooth latte (Brave Roasters). One of the most beautifully presented drinks menus I have seen in a long time. Fantastic hipster-ish fit-out. Cool indie tunes. COME TO THIS CAFÉ!!! No, seriously, it's a little hard to find but totally worth it!

Everything about this whispers "serious" from the cool aircon to the sweet indie music and the sleek greys and whites. Coffee - double shot long black - also very tasty. Flagship blend is 40% Erhiopian Yirgaxheffe, 40% Honduran Santa Elena and 20% Doi Chang from Thailand. Recommended.

Close to uni and Sports Stadium in the inner eastern suburbs, this unpretentious café, named after the owner's daughter's nickname (!) serves up an excellent latte with strong body and flavour, well presented and all in all a fine discovery! My friend's hot chocolate also good. Some delicious looking cakes on display although we didn't partake. Recommended!

Disappointing flat white. Weak and overly milky. Please I hope for better next time. Although given the proliferation of great cafés in Melbourne, there's unlikely to be a next time.

Well well! In the middle of nowhere on the Chiang Mai - Pai road is Coffee Hill. Beautifully situated and with a gorgeous fit-out, the 32KM special (local blend) was a proper and flavoursome latte! Do stop (although service was very slow albeit apologetic!)

A little removed from central Bangkok, this is a beautifully fitted out little garden oasis in a very pretty village soi off busy Ramkhamhaeng Rd (Summakorn Village). Barrista/owner was familiar with the classic Aussie Flat White and Long Black, and so I had a good strong and bitter long black. Very enjoyable and highly recommended if you are in the area.
