Paddywagen reviewed Bunker
I love coffee. And I go to a lot of coffee shops. I just find that in the last few years I tend to compare everyone to Bunker. Unlike some mates who tend to go to one place regardless of quality and consistency, I love to go and try new and different places as much as I can because it’s fun. And yet I find myself coming back to Bunker at least 3-4 times a week and they never disappoint. They love coffee. They know coffee. It’s consistently good and they’re so friendly- what’s not to like?

You know what I love about Australia? It really doesn’t matter if you go to Brissie, Melbourne, Sydney or Launceston- you can pretty much get great coffee if you want it! My morning flat white at Sweetbrew was gorgeous. Nice coffee hit that was mellow and dark and chocolates. Great temp and vibe- well done!

New cafe from the owners of Bare Bones Society. As always, coffee is on point but with earlier opening times. My small flat white had an intense coffee hit that was well extracted and smooth. Just the way I like it! Lucky to have it.

Hmmm, am I missing something? With such a great rating, I headed out to the Terrace and ordered a cup and it was- okay. Drinkable, definitely not earth shattering. Was it just an outlier? Certainly, the place was comfy and welcoming and the barista was extremely friendly and personable. It is obviously well loved by its clientele of regulars. I guess I just expected more- maybe it was the beans, but it just didn’t have hit of intense coffee and caramel flavours that defines a great extraction. I’ll give it a go again soon and hopefully it was s once off.

Nice laneway coffee spot - just how I like it. Coffee was not mind blowing but quite good. Temperature was correct, a tad weak but better coffee than others in area with better ratings. Guys friendly and service prompt. Extra point for atmosphere from me because they liked my dog!

Has been my go to in the area for many years. The last few weeks, my lactose free flat white has had a peculiar taste which was not pleasant. I mentioned it to the baristas and to be fair to them, they asked me about it the next time I was there- apparently they’re having issues with their milk which they hope to sort out soon. I appreciate their willingness to ensure quality control and hopefully their lactose free options will be back to normal in the near future.

Thanks for the review Paddy. We've been happy with the return to form of the lactose free milk. Thanks again for helping us stay across the quality control, we really appreciate it.

Good Very good. Good temperature, smooth taste with a good hit of the good stuff. Staff friendly and helpful. Hard to fault- would love a lactose free milk option though- seems a Southern States thing- Brisbane seriously one up on the Zymil option.

Had a 12oz flat white- prob too big as usually have Piccolos. Good temperature, great intensity and caramelisation, smooth with interesting coffee art. Bit more expensive but definitely worth a second or third try. Probably best coffee in Indooroopilly . Interestingly menu aost exclusively gluten free though I didn't try so can't comment. Great start.

Primarily a place for great food but the coffee is definitely not an afterthought. Toby's Estate beans handled professionally with a great smooth hit. Good extraction and better than a lot of CBD places. Welcome to Jindalee , BBS, you're much appreciated!

Gee, something must have changed since the last few reviews. Been here a few times over the Australia Day Long weekend(let's not talk about the weather shall we?) and have found the coffee consistently great . Good coffee hit, consistently smooth and strong , good temperature. Must be hard for these beachfront cafes to draw a good coffee with the problems ofhumidity and salt spray but Lot 104 copes well. Not really interested with the wine bar aspect in the evenings- mainly there in the mornings for coffee and a bite; so maybe the morning crew is more coffee focussed?
