Overall the cafe was nice enough. The Florentine was excellent. However the coffee (flat white) was ver poor. I guess I am normally very selective about which cafes I go to (via Beanhunter) but this time I just popped in without checking. I had forgotten how bad coffee can be. Over hot, frothy instead of stretched, thin weak bitter flavour. In short, dishwater. Service was acceptable as was atmosphere, but not a place for coffee-lovers.

Because of the excellent reviews, I was really looking forward to trying this cafe. Unfortunately it was extraordinarily disappointing. No attempt was made to present the coffee with latte art, the coffee lacked body and density creating an anaemic overly milky brew and I was generally left feeling that it was a little below the standard at my local Coffee Club and substantially inferior to what I make at home. With its high ratings, I was expecting it would be one of the elite few for which I would willingly make a one hour trip into the city just for the thrill of of drinking better coffee than I make at home, but it was far from that. A real surprise.

Visited this cafe for the first time on Sat 19 Jan 2013 as part of a 5200 km holiday trip. Everywhere we went, we consulted Beanhunter in an attempt to find drinkable coffee. The coffee we had here was the best of the trip - comparable with the best specialist coffee bars in Sydney. Knowing they probably used several baristas during each week, we enquired after the name and roster of this particular one. Her name was Stephanie and she only works on the weekends. For the first time on our trip, we had seconds to prolong the bliss.
