This is the perfect flat white! And that is the first time I've written those glowing words on Beanhunter. Get here and try for yourself. 5Senses beans from Melbourne done as good if not better than the guys themselves in Melbourne (yes I have tried also).

Today's flat white is on the weak side, and has a sourness that's not agreeable in a milk based coffee. I wish places like this customised the bean for the style of coffee. Remove acidic quality and bump up the darkness of the roast to translate in a flat white or latte. 6/10

Very sour tasting coffee... that green bean taste that hits you hard in the tastebuds and nose... you get from perhaps splitting the milk. Who knows? I just knows I don't likes it! Another sign of poor coffee is the bubbles on the surface of the milk.

A nice coffee, albeit with a slightly green taste that gets stronger as I drink.... that may not be to everyone's liking. Perhaps the milk was taken too far in temperature, causing it to have a sour taste. Milk texture is tight and art stays to the end of the drink, which is good way to tell skill of barista. Can't drink more than one coffee due to sourness, unfortunately. I think calling this the number 1 coffee in Sydney is rich, and probably reflects a fault in BH rating system. Coffee Brothers is still my fav.

Very nice coffee, dark roasted Schibello beans extracted right to the edge, which is how I like my coffee. Will be back to this cheerful little place that provides a peaceful alternative to Ugly Mug a few doors away.

This coffee is filed under 'W' - for Where the Hell is the Crema! As you can see in the pic, no sign of those lovely coffee oils that are meant to first touch your lips as you take a sip. 'W' could also stand for What's going wrong with Melbourne Baristas, or Wait til I get back to Sydney for Decent Espresso!

What a lovely little coffee! Creamy milk with tight texture. Nutty caramel notes from Padre Coffee beans. Well executed by focussed baristas who clearly love making great coffee to warm up winter wanderers like me who stumble down the lane that houses this modern cafe den.

Underwhelming coffee, bitter, loose milk texture, feels rushed. And here's me, a Sydneysider visiting 'coffee lovin' Melbourne', thinking wtf! Maybe the girl operating the espresso machine is rushing ... it is 30 minutes to close time. No excuse though. I hope my next coffee adventure in Melbourne is better than this sub-standard rubbish.

Beautifully smooth Gabriel coffee bean used here with tightly textured milk at just the right temperature - well done guys! On a very busy Sunday keeping standards this high is some feat. Will be back next time I hit the shops at Macquarie Centre.

Coffee weak but when I really concentrate I can taste a fairly well balanced bean. Milk texture is ok. What isn't ok is the massive chip on the shoulder of the blonde lady serving us. I feel like I am inconveniencing her just by being here.

Woah! This flatty bites hard. Very strong, almost rancid, aftertaste. But not the 'old beans' rancid but the too new kind. Green. Chaotic sourness is what I describe after a few more sips. Wrong bean for milk based coffee. Apart from that, the milk is textured well, but a little cold for my liking on a rainy Winter's day.

Flat white had to be sent back - milk was about 50 degrees rather than expected 65+. Nice staff happy to remake and was heaps better temp second try. Flavour is bland, nothing special despite the name, "Awesome Mix Volume III". My main taste is wateryness actually (a word I just invented!). Normally due to older beans, which causes thin and dissipated crema. Would I come back? No. Would I attend a class here at their brew school? No way.

Love this place, very consistent coffee time and time again. Generous crema that can only come from large baskets of gorgeous blend of Vanuatuan beans. These guys and girls know coffee! Worth the trip. Also, try their Olive Toast with tomatoes and feta! Add bacon and poached eggs to make an award winning breakfast :-)

This is the place to go in Summer Hill for great coffee and a bit of happiness thrown in! Lovely decor, cheerful service and funky seating options like ex-theatre chairs, all make this a must visit, especially for well lived Campos beans!

Enjoyed my flat white, but burnt toast that costs $6.... gives you an indication of where the kitchen is at. Bacon was undercooked and had large amounts of rind. Tell staff and they'll "mention it" but not offer to fix it for you. Oh well, go for the coffee next time!
