Amazing in this fast moving world that Bunker is still going strong nearly 10 years after I first reviewed them. So many coffee places fail to survive but Marcus has spread his wings and opened in more locations. Whatever I said previously still applies- most amazing as since the floods in 2011 Milton has changed out of all recognition - old Queenslanders have been replaced by tower blocks. The morning rush queue out the door bears testament to how good they are at making coffee.

Too weak. Two tries. Good coffee is much less science (scales and timers) and more love. Abandoned my first of the year. Explained it was too weak and got a "what do you mean " reply. Not for returning.

Working on site @Powerhouse this week and after a poor offsite experience I got chatting with a staff member about the current best coffee in the building. Some trepidation as no doubt staff will.change frequently but my flat white was spot on and not as expensive as the environment could demand. Sad it's closed on Monday!

I normally reply on a filter to find good and well reviwed coffee near me. Today I had to drop the filters a tad to find coffee in a walkable distance of my work site. So sad. Plenty of casual tourist traffic, noisy lunch crowd. Slow service - not sure of the cause but several apologies overheard. Finally the coffee, strength about right but bitter as! Overall memory - a strong smell of burning cheese from toastie preparation - normally would make me hungry but too burnt! 🔥 Going to re-enable my filters and will walk further next time. My score should filter End of the Road OUT for me.

I first reviewed Bunker 6 years ago and they are still pulling great shots. This WW2 air raid shelter (the bunker) remains at the centre, a slight spread along the pavement and a few sun umbrellas make things more comfortable. The empire has grown to include John Mills Himself and regular market spots including Milton markets on Sunday mornings. Here's to the next 6 years!
