Was not impressed by the coffee here. A medium (Which would normally be considered a large size) was $4.50 which was greatly overpriced for the poor quality of coffee. It was bitter and milky and left a bad taste in the mouth.

Won't be making a huge effort to return here. Coffee was bland, and a large was a small by usual standards, but cost $4.20 (large cappuccino). The fact that they were open at 5.30am was the main positive to this somewhat disappointing experience.

The coffee here is good - not amazing, but still creamy enough to enjoy. The customer service is fantastic, and is what keeps me coming back. Also the fact they are open on a Sunday in a relatively quiet area for weekend trading.

I really enjoy my cappuccinos from here. A lovely place with friendly staff - fairly priced at $3.60 for a large cappuccino. Cappuccino was creamy and had a great flavour (could be a tad on the weak side). Definitely a place I would come back to again and again for consistent delicious coffee.

Great cappuccino here - creamy and full of flavour, and at a great price - $3.80 for a large cappuccino. Very friendly staff make it an enjoyable experience, and the option to text ahead to save time! Always enjoy stopping by here!

Cannot fault coffee or service. Such lovely wait staff, and such beautiful coffee - creamy and full of flavour. $4 for a large cappuccino to takeaway is a decent price - a bit more if you eat in, but I would highly recommend if you are out there.

Fantastic customer service, unlike anywhere else. Made to feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door, right up until when you leave. Coffee is decent - good price of $3.50 for a large cap, but can have a burnt and sharp taste at times. Cannot fault the service though, so will continue to frequent here.

Not great coffee for me. Cappuccino was bitter and sharp, and far too hot! Great customer service, but I think I will just go back for the gelato rather than the coffee in future!

Great coffee at Kawa. Cappuccino was so delicious, with lovely creamy flavour, but still a great strength. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Can be busy at times, with service a bit slower, but one of my favourite coffee places in Sydney. Highly recommend!

Beautiful coffee here and such great atmosphere! Cappuccino is fairly priced - $4 for a large, and great creamy flavour and very consistent. Only downside is that there is limited seating, so be prepared to wait a while for a table. But I love this cafe - definitely a favourite of mine!

Coffee was great - perfect cappuccino for an Aussie in NYC. Creamy with great flavour. Staff were friendly. However, there was only one (small) size for a cappuccino, which was quite disappointing. Still worth a try if you are an Aussie desperate for coffee with great flavour!

This place has such potential! Such wonderful staff and reasonable prices, but the coffee is just not great. Cappuccinos just don't have the right creamy flavour - too sharp and watery. I cannot knock the service - just wish the coffee was as delightful as the atmosphere.

I love this place! The coffee is fantastic - creamy and full of flavour. The staff are so friendly, and the coffee is fairly priced at $4 for a large cappuccino. I only wish I still lived nearby so that I could frequent here more often! Highly recommend!

No doubt that gnome makes great coffee - creamy and great strength. The cost of $4.50 for a large cappuccino is a bit steep compared with other great cafés in the Surry Hills area, and the fact that the cafe is overcrowded and spilling onto the street can be quite frustrating, but is also an indication of the great flavour of the coffee and it's popularity.

Fantastic coffee - creamy and perfect temp and strength. Service was outstanding - we came in 5 mins before closing time, but were greeted so warmly and coffee was perfect! Fairly priced - $4 for a large cappuccino. As a sydney-sider, I'm sad I can't be a regular here, but will no doubt visit when I'm next in Melbourne! Highly recommend!

Have stopped by here a number of times. Coffee is consistent, but a bit sharp and lacks the creamy depth of other "wow" coffees. Fairly priced at $3.80 for a large cappuccino. Will continue to stop by here.

Love this place! Not a regular, but when I stop by the coffee is always great and customer service is excellent! Fairly priced - $4 for large cappuccino. Will definitely continue to stop by when I'm in the area.

Great coffee, and fairly priced - $4 for a large cappuccino. Beautiful takeaway cups - but only not available to "eat-in" patrons, which was annoying as I am such a slow drinker, and always prefer the taste out of a take-away cup! Nevertheless, a very great atmosphere and always very popular (and crowded).

A great coffee - creamy but also sharp. Different flavours depending on the barrister, but never had a bad one in over 20 visits. Staff are lovely, and coffee is reasonably priced - large cappuccino for $4. Highly recommend!

Hands down, greatest coffee in NYC. Cappuccino taste is full and creamy (even for a skim). Service there is excellent. Very busy and cramped on weekends (like many cafés in NYC). Price was US$4.50 for a large cap, which is steep by Aussie standards, but it was well worth it! Delicious!
