Our visit was on a quiet Wednesday arvo. Chris the owner served us, super friendly and attentive. Locally roasted fair trade beans. The flat white was at the perfect temp, strong and the construction was faultless. Good wife and comfortable banquet seating. Lots of room and a good size menu.

Hoody&Kat reviewed Higher Ground Cafe
Down the steps of the Calle and we stumbled across Higher Ground. (Same name as one of my favorite cafes in Mt Martha) As we walked in we were greeted warmly and told the coffee here is as good if not better than Melbourne. Mark (owner) explained that his beans are no more than 4days old as the hit his shop (roasted). Big call! But didn’t disappoint. The Barista know how to construct a coffee (my most important feature), two shots and Leche (milk) most coffee shops here in La Paz, don’t know this or any thing other than a latte or cappuccino. Highly recommended.
Hoody&Kat reviewed Coffeeteer
In a country that produces some of the best coffee in the world we struggled to find a great cup of coffee. Until we found “coffeeteer”. If your into coffee and cake, this place is a must visit in Quito. Bit difficult to find but you will love it. (Just check out the photos)
Hoody&Kat reviewed Cafè Bohio
Construction of the coffee impecable. Roasted on site, so doesn’t get much fresher. La Scala machine (Italian). A great passion for coffee. Strong dark roast blend (my personal favorite) only in Jaco for three days but will spent a lot of time in this cafe!
Coffee just went up a level. Locally owned, has ties with helping street children and street dogs. Staff friendly and helpful. (Helped me with my poor Spanish) our barista Johnathon speaks 5 languages. Training local kids to construct great coffee. Offers a shop front with great people watching windows and a private rear lounge. I was in Antigua for 5 days and didn’t get a bad coffee here. Can’t say the same for other establishments. Refuge is situated opposite the biblioteca (library) next to a bar and hotel Juan. Two blocks from the Central Park. Great position, Great vibe!
I am backpacking through Central America. Cuba, Mexico, Belize and just landed in Guatemala. This cafe has the best coffee since leaving Melbourne. Not the perfect score for the coffee but it’s good. Italian owned with a “La Pavoni” espresso machine. Funny to find a good coffee in a small rural village
