Reviews of Cafe Berlin
Breakfast two consecutive mornings. Coffee (strong flat white) was great, so I had two. The rest of the family (all coffee lovers) enjoyed theirs as well. We had coffees in other Roselle and Balmain cafes with poor to mediocre results. Berlin was definately the best. Friendly and good food.
Amazing array of treats on offer, fresh and delicious looking. Coffee was ok, barista seemed disinterested and tired, it was 1600hrs on a Saturday, and with the fleet in town they probs had a monster of a day, still an espresso doesn't require that much effort, if your equipment is clean and you show a modicum of care for your product it usually shows through!! Oh well
Happy cafe. Great selection of cakes. My muesli biscuit (really a flapjack the size of a cupcake) was very tasty. Coffee was a little bland with the milk being a little overstretched and too hot. I'd say it is good and would be happy to go again, but I wouldn't travel far to come here for the coffee. But only one visit so far and nobody pulls perfect coffees every time.
From the outside Cafe Berlin is just another cafe lining the Darling Street strip in Balmain. On the inside it is a fantastic cafe with extremely friendly and helpful staff, lovely coffee and absolutely fabulous food and snacks. While the establishment itself is a fairly simple affair every part of the experience a visit reflects the passion and care put into this business by it's owner and the staff that work their. Service is excellent and always friendly. The coffee is good, rich and flavorsome without bitterness. Admittedly this can be a little hit and miss depending on who is making it. The food is delightful and there are a always good specials and a delicious ranges of cakes and treats to wash down with a coffee or two. Cafe Berlin is a great spot for relaxing weekend breakfast or a quick mid-week lunch alike.
