I always wanted to visit Lamkin Lane, and my visit was welcomed by a friendly lady. They offered 5 single origins to choose from. I felt like I went back to Japan... Always many options, and I love freedom to choose what I like. The place is not too big: Several tables outside, a communal table, small table and a counter. I also loved its quietness. Not bustling but somewhere you can sit down and enjoy a bit of me-time while you have morning/afternoon coffee. I chose Nicaragua, which tasted light and not strongly acidic but mild stone fruit acidity. Really well executed. My partner enjoyed his milky coffee with Brazil. The lady was really helpful as we could not choose our beans. She was really patient, which I found kind of rare these days. Unfortunately, they don't offer cooked food/GF food, but they are happy for clients to bring food. I found it very generous. Look forward to going back.
Reviews of Lamkin Lane Espresso Bar
Reasonable coffee at the right temp and with very good micro foam, but a little bit thin as light taste wise, and nothing plain or savory to accompany a brekky brew Would it be so hard to have plain croissants or a few muffins on hand for those who are hungry but don't want a sugar hit? Can't really understand the 9+ rating
Coffee was nice, though a touch on the acidic side for my liking. I would definitely go back next time I'm in Caloundra, but I can't say it lived up to the hype of being #4 in Australia, sorry. There are a lot of cafés in South East Queensland with lower ratings on Beanhunter that consistently serve smoother coffees than Lamkin Lane.
