Reviews of Provisions of Arrowtown
A return visit to this delightful establishment still fails to reveal why previous ratings have been so low. My experience has been positive on all three occasions each a few months apart. Allpress beans perfectly extracted and served in silky smooth soy cap. A lovely providore type vibe with outdoor seating in garden setting. An extensive range of sweets on offer as well.
The atmosphere at Provisions is hard to beat. An outdoor table in a garden of fruit trees, with delicious fare to boot. Coffee wise Provisions is probably the best in Arrowtown. Well textured froth and a good latte with plenty of kick. It could be said the beans lack a little definition and character, and so the finish is a little flat on the palate. The combination of the the coffee with the acclaimed sticky buns makes a delightful snack, and there's plenty more on the menu if you're after something more substantial.
This cafe is set in an historic gold miners cottage and reminds me of Gov's at Mermaid on the Gold Coast. Choose your seating from the back garden, a private verandah or just one of the rooms with comfortable leather lounges. Everything is baked on site and I enjoyed the best sticky bun since Billies in Cambridge. Coffee combo is La M/Allpress in 175ml cup (standard) with some presentation over a white-out , hence a little bland.
