We popped by the lovely sun bathed shop in Greenwich Village during coffee rush hour. The coffee was on the acidic side and ended up rather watery instead of conveying a much sought after punch. In addition to the substandard flat white, the barista was unfriendly and the music cranked up to the max with rockmusic. Hey Google, volume at 40%, smooth jazz & where can I get a proper flattie?
Reviews of Toby's Estate Coffee Roasters
My espresso was underextracted and sour. Was in the middle of a rush on service, but flow should help with consistency. They don't really listen when you place your order. You'll have to repeat it 2-3 times and even then there is no guarantee. My "double espresso to stay" came in a paper cup as they messed up "to stay" and "to go". So... Coffee: not so good Service : not so good Atmosphere : not so good. A shame, they used to be more chill and better at the coffee.
This is our 'go to' cafe in NY, serving consistently good coffee! They don't have 2% milk (?) but will blend regular milk and non-fat milk. Nice little bookshop inside Club Monaco as well. Service is efficient, not overly friendly. Worth the effort to get your coffee here!
I loved just about everything this coffee shop had to offer. I especially loved that they have a book store and florist behind them because if you wanted to, you could relax with a coffee and a good read. Excellent beans, friendly (non-pretentious) service, and classic interior design.
Located at an adjunct space to Club Monaco, this is a much smaller space than that of their shop in Brooklyn. The coffee is nice but bc the store is small and busy, thus it is more of a run in and run out place. They do have a bench outside, and some counter space inside. Space wise I like their Brooklyn store much more. But in downtown, this is much like many other coffee shops. Nice to go to if you are close but not a destination place.
