Coffee 9, atmosphere dead, service one of the worst consistently. But the barista their makes a good ristretto, they have 90plus options for filters and yeah the barista talent is wasted on that joint. Previously marked this joint a 9.2 but since new owners took over and ran it its dropped further and further into the ground creating an empty atmosphere 95% of the time.

I thoroughly enjoy visiting this café. Dong is a gentleman. Few and far between like him, and his attentive staff. Axil bring in fresh singles each week, so there's always something new in the hopper. This weeks Costa Rican had some interesting limoncello flavours.
Choosing a quality roastery (in this case Axil) is only half the battle; how you present the coffee is another matter. Workshop Bros certainly gave these beans the platform they deserve. We seemed to walk in during a calmer time on Saturday afternoon (we were the only coffee up at the time). I had the washed Colombian Castillo as a single shot espresso - amazing mouth feel and delivered on its tasting notes. The 3/4 FW I had was superb, fruity af. Interested to try during busy period, but passed this one with flying colours.
Fantastic little space with coffee roasted by Axil. Good service with very thoughtful staff. Had an espresso and flat white on the house blend. Flat white was chocolatey and full bodied with just a hint of carbon, above average milk texturing. Espresso was harder to drink, it had sweetness with a nice body, but slightly unbalanced. Most difficult because roast defects were more evident, roasty and astringent.
Even though I miss the original brothers who opened this place, I still enjoy visiting Workshop. The new owner, Dong, is such a lovely man. He has gone far and beyond to learn all the ins and outs about coffee, and has a great team behind him. I have to say, some of the best coffee roasted by Axil, has been enjoyed here. Dong does their beans the justice it deserves. Its so nice to see a café owner who knows what's important when running a café.
