Visited this place a year ago, I flew back to the U.S recently and was sad to see they’ve changed their name. I got the cold brew this time and wasn’t impressed, I’m guessing they use a Toddy and don’t rinse the paper filter first. It was way too lite for me and lacked any body. I’ll pop in again in a few months when I’m back.
Great great spot. Seems almost alien to this part of orange County but I loved it. Didn't try the food this time based on other reviews. Decor is great. Had a cappuccino this morning. Barista measured the fresh grinds accurately. Milk was heated perfectly. Beans were single origin Brazilian. Good ratio and had a very smooth finish. I would certainly come back again. Well done.
The coffee here is *really* good. Where Portolo has amazingly good coffee for America, the Cappucino they just made me here would be in the upper ranges of Sydney or Melbourne coffee. Their complete lack of food preparation, even a toaster for toasting the delicious pumpkin bread, is somewhat mystifying.
A good cafe in The LAB Anti-Mall (which in itself is worth a visit and a complex called The Camp across the road). It sits in a cool complex where individual retailers operate from which means its full of interesting shops. The coffee is good, not entirely too my taste though as it was a little on the sour side. That's probably a little unfair as it was probably the style of blend on offer. Had a couple of macchiatos on seperate visits. Worth a visit.
