Reviews of John Doe Specialty Coffee
Got to love a place that advertises itself as "specialty coffee" and comes through. Three batches on offer (2 s/o, 1 for milk-based). My flat whites were well-extracted, though nothing outrageously fantastic, just solid: their house blend is best by far. As for food options, they combine effectively the safe and the creative- well worth a try. Friendly baristas willing to have a coffee-based chat are always appreciated (even willing to point me to other good cafes in town to check out) They've used the cosy space impeccably well too - wouldn't fit more than a couple of families, but plenty of Bendigo Bank employees. When I'm back visiting family, I'll be back to John Doe too.
A cool little cafe. Modern setup, and obviously serious about coffee. Two single origins available- Panama, and El Salvador. I tried both as short blacks. Both were rich yet smooth, with chocolate tones. Hit the spot! Great staff. I will return next time i visit Geelong
One of my favourite cafes in Geelong. Cool, laid back ambience combined with consistently amazing coffee. The passion Dain and the crew have for what they do is evident when you sip a rocking espresso bursting with flavour. Oh, and the music is kick ass. Keep up the good work.
Whilst I was working in Geelong city I had the chance to check out a few of the local caffeine suppliers. Thought I would give this place a go after they took over from a precious cafe in the building. When I hear specialty coffee I presume a certain level of expertise and an excellent brew. I wasn't expecting rude customer service and mediocre coffee. Didn't need to go back here as there is a number of top quality baristas in the area.
