I've been to Cafe Metz many times over the last 5 or so years. It was originally located across the road, until they moved to this big old Queenslander next to Canungra's park. The fitout and verandah is perfect for a country Cafe. The big decks will be lovely in winter and the food is very much suited to locals. It's homey, simple, tasty and fairly priced. Coffee. Merlo has been the brand at the Metz for many years. And as it is in many busy Cafe's, coffee consistancy can fluctuate with Barista's. Over the years I have had damn good coffees to very average coffees. Yesterday I had an okay coffee. Temperature was good, extraction was bit off, so coffee was weakish and pale in flavour. I can't say I would order a second one. But then again, I am not expecting Ltd Espresso or Dandelion & Driftwood style Barista skills here in Canungra. So overall I would say if you are driving through Canungra and you want to stop in a lovely location, grab a good value lunch with a coffee. Metz is a nice place to do it.
