Reviews of Shawty's Espresso
I don't know how I have survived working in the Dutton Park / Woolloongabba area for the past 5 years without Shawty's - home to the passionate and characteristic Coffee Maestro Issac and co!! Beautiful coffee, treats and wicked service /banter with the Shawty's gang. I'll be taking many friends and colleagues over the tracks to be spoilt. 10/10 experience - every time! Lizzie
Since opening it's doors, it's been nothing but good times and delicious coffee. The other morning... walked in during setup, waited patiently for the coffee baws Issac to dial in, grabbed a sneaky take away to drink on the way to the train, finished it just as I stepped onto the platform. Walked down the platform to my carriage and the doors open. Best experience ever! Today, I had a dine in and missed my train... and the one after it. Didn't care. Coffee and chat here is that good. Best 10 outta 10 cafe ever.
If you want to experience coffee not just have one, get quirky Isaac to show off his outstanding skills, knowledge and passion in coffee. Consistently a range of awesome coffee. Food was very yummy, loved the fennel seeds on the bagel:) Cool shop fit out in a very unique location. Costumer service was very welcoming made me feel like staying there for the rest of the day. More than worth to check out. Southsides best coffee shop!?!
Not my usual side of town, but I took the time to seek it out, word on the street is my favourite barista Issac, had some new digs..... The space is light, relaxed & welcoming. You step off the street in an industrial area, to a clean lined oasis. The scrambled egg & bacon bagel, was by far, the best I've had in a long time & I eat out a lot. Balikintamani on v60 you suggest? Yes please! Drool worthy! I just haven't had a bad coffee experience here since I first came. I always leave it up to Issac to talk me through & help me choose the coffee journey that will suit my mood.....& he never disappoints.
So fresh. Filter on the Urban Finca columbian was rich, deep and easy drinking, not at all chalky. Milk coffees on the Aricha were insane, so many crazy berry flavours coming through. Milk on point. Always consistantly good coffee, changing up what's available keeping it real. All the hard work that goes into nailing the extraction of each bean is paying off.
