Kazbahtoo reviewed Nana & Da's
After seeing the write up on Must Do Brisbane, we couldn't resist stopping by this fabulous little renovated shop when in Kedron. From the outside you could see a lot of love and attention to detail was put in to making this old girl sing again. What is fabulous is the inside is even better. A beautiful blue wall colour just relaxes you, the ceilings are stunning, the old light fittings and the big bold wallpapered wall....wow! The more you sit and look, the more you see and appreciate. I think Jackie the owner said it was day 11 and counting. And we got the impression they have been hit pretty quickly with curious coffee lovers and locals. It was quite busy this morning. But we didn't mind the wait, as it gave us time to enjoy the renovations and read the Menu. We decided just to enjoy a fresh baked pear and walnut muffin with our coffees. Even though there is a full kitchen in site. The coffee is made with Cup's 'Five Star Day' beans. A fave of mine at home. It took awhile to get our coffees and we had well and truly finished our muffin when they came. But we know this is just running in issues. The coffee had a nice flavour and good temp. However the skill of extraction and pour was a bit weak. No latte art and a pale'ish crema. Not bad, just not up to the usual standards we see these days at new establishments. We will have to return another day, let everything settle in a bit. Overall I can see this place will become much loved and it is well due, the shop is beautiful, the prices very affordable and value for money is good. Kudo's to the owners on a beautiful reno job and here's to a great success for you.
