So of course I had to make my way here. After reading Adam (Thompson's) review and trusting the quality and fairness of his reviews, it was top of my list to do. Though I did have to walk past Strauss to get there and I was tempted to stop there first. ;) It is a quaint, funky, fabulous little space. The exterior of the old building has enough charm to draw you in and yes it is smaller than you think. Though we had no trouble finding a little wall spot with stools. It was great to watch the numbers of people constantly trickling in here. Service was friendly and quick. Coffees were brought to us. We enjoyed a little fresh pastry and very much enjoyed the flat whites. Temp was perfect for me, but may be a bit cool for some tastes. I love the ability to taste all the notes of the coffee when it is this temp. It has a molasses sweetness to it and a lovely finish on the palate. Not super strong, but robust and full bodied. Overall the concept makes you feel like you could be in some Euro laneway, enjoying high quality coffee with bucket loads of charisma. Make the effort go. And if you work in the cbd, lucky you. :D
