Food and coffee are great but customer service and friendliness is always hit and miss. Some staff here are suited to customer service and others are just surly when customers are polite to them. One dumped my meal on the table and quickly turned on her heel before I could ask for some relish on the side that the same meal was served with previously, and not so much as a smile, a hi, just stone faced and unwelcoming. Later, a barista dumped my take away coffee on the counter and walked off.. I queried it with another unfriendly barista near her with the same unfriendly attitude. No smile no interest in my question from her either just a pause then a dead inside look on her face surly response then turned back away. I noticed while standing there that she was very friendly with another customer and smiled and said hello to him. (??) If you don't like customers or getting paid or are busy tailoring your concept of customer service based on their appearance seeing you don't even know them, go do something you're good at.

A regular stop on Brisvegas visits which never disappoints. Good brekky options and super coffee. Take away can get quite busy during morning rush but well worth the wait!

I have been to this cafe multiple times over the last four years, unfortunately, I am always disappointed after I leave. The cafe seems to appeal more to a breakfast or lunch crowd rather than taking pride in their coffee. The food is overpriced and the coffee tastes like dirt. My recommendation would be to make that little bit of an extra effort to walk down the street to Bellissimo. You would expect better from a somewhat local roaster, but I will rate a little higher for installing the fans at the end of the alley, they are really good at keeping out the cigarette smoke from next door.

Situated at the end of a laneway behind the James St. Markets. Tables inside or outside under awnings. Table service and breakfast/lunch menu with standard options but noted Porridge available for these cooler months. Importantly the coffee is simply superior, even in this competitive area. Long blacks and short black perfectly presented with citrus/nutty flavour and very smooth finish. A brew to come back to.
