The coffee was good, best coffee I have had in Brisbane being from Melbourne. The atmosphere of this querky place is great

Bean... Love the character from Orson Scott Card, love the alleyway grunge feel, like the organic nature of its development. Campos = meh. My short mac was too hot. Shot a bit acrid. Check it out for the novelty.

Really enjoy this place. It's quiet and a nice break from the typical city atmosphere of most cafes. Serving Campos, and serving it well! Not to mention how incredibly nice the staff are!

South African fella makes a brilliant coffee. His comrades do alright too. Needs some new furniture, but perfect for my pre-work takeaway

Showed up and they didn't have any soy for my latte. Then when I made a joke about it, the barista was rather rude. Have no opinion about the coffee.

The Melbournification of Brisbane is well under way. Bean is what I remember of Melbourne CBD back in the mid noughties......walk down a dark alley and feel a little creepy....surprisingly find a door around a corner and descend into a basement which opens up to the funkiest space you'll find this far north. I was greeted by the lovely barista who introduced me to the place and proceeded to deliver me a lovely Campos brew. That would be my only bugbear - Campos already has a large presence in the city, and I love those independent establishments that offer a range of bean options, especially when rotating single origins. Still, the atmosphere is grand, which is only enhanced by the Bunker Boutique fashion store it shares the space with.
