A great little spot in Bathurst. We stopped here again on the way through town to warm ourselves with a brew and to sit in the morning sun. The sun did its job, however the barista today did not do justice to Bills Beans. ( I have had better coffee here before, perhaps it was a busy morning). My double shot was weak and watery and lacked the oomph I am accustomed to. The deli on the other hand has great sweet and savoury delights :)
Our FWs had good flavour with that burst of acidity on first sip that Bills Beans seems to bring, but the milk was missing the smooth silkiness that I expect. Enjoyed their deli style food. My spicy pumpkin pie was very yummy. Overall a fairly good experience.
Coffee tasted good. I like a stronger flavour. Coffee and milk could have been better integrated. We were sitting on the footpath near a major intersection which was ok. We had penne with bacon, preserved lemon and pine nuts which was excellent. Service was quick and efficient.
Coffee is ok, a bit weak in flavour considering I got a double shot. Service isn't great (t/a), there's no clear flow to order, you just stand amongst the crowd and wait til one of the staff looks at you after they've chatted to all the people they know. Not being a regular, I would have preferred to stand in line or something.
