A fantastic little spot that I like to structure my bus trip around if I have to head east from the city. Conveniently located just off Hoddle St and right near the Victoria Park Train Station.

This is such an easy cafe to drive past that you get the sense it's mostly locals who frequent it. The staff are friendly, the food is tasty, the prices are cheapish, the coffee is great and the vibe is mellow.

Dom and Mark (sp?) run this place to near perfection. Friendly, down to earth staff who pump out huge amounts of coffee at fantastic quality. Reasonably priced at $3.20 and consistently good. I must have had hundreds of coffees from this place and I can't recall having a bad one.

They also do a few simple but delish lunch options - foccacias, sandwiches, etc. I hesitate to mention it because they always disappear very quickly but the Chicken Cutlet Focaccia is just right. I used to frequent Marios pretty regularly also. Back in the days when it was just around the corner. It was by far my favourite coffee in Glenferrie Rd. I went back recently and found it very strong, almost too strong. I like my coffee strong but this was too much, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as before. Still, it was nice to be back.
