Have to completely disagree with CoCo's review in regards to the coffee at sugar pie.
The coffee is consistently bad, old and stale beans from coffee x, milk often burnt if you are that way inclined.
Food is fine for the price you pay and the staff are friendly.
I just wish they would get a new coffee supplier and some training.
Atmosphere is what you would expect from a cafe in the foyer of an office block.
It should be a no brainer...airports red eye flights caffeine = happy travels
It's not like there are no options at an airport..in fact it seems like everyone has an espresso machine these days. The problem is despite all the "options" it really boils down to two:
1. Weak and milky
Or
2. Burnt and bitter
Quickshots has a lot going for it on the surface...beans by Allpress and a shiny La Marzocco FB70 dominating the counter...what could possibly go wrong you ask....well plenty.
I ordered a flatwhite and I almost cried as I watched them make it....the shot may just have been pas...
This fashion boutique come cafe is new in castle hill.
The focus is probably on fashion but a trendy cafe area adorns the front of the shop nevertheless.
Toby's estate supply the caffiene hits here and while promising, the barista needed more training as both flat whites and ristrettos ordered were under extracted.
I'm giving the place the benefit of the doubt and will try again..it's just nice to see someone trying the indie route in an area awash with the coffee chains.
Found this cafe while looking for Pablo & Rusty's in Epping.
with its large bacony/deck seating area and Campos livery, Topiary Cafe really stands out on an otherwise nondescript shopping street in Epping.
The coffee I'm glad to report was very good...strong, flavoursome ....everything you would expect from a Campos supplied cafe.
Coffee is made on a La Marzocco Linea that is inexplicably hidden away in the food preparation area.
the menu is good and reasonably priced....a great place to spend a weekend morning on the deck in the sun.
Like the previous reviewer I can concur that the food at il punto is good and the service is quite good....the coffee on the other hand is very average.
Consistently Burnt with the taste of rancid old coffee oils is the order of the day here I'm afraid.
With a very impressive Elektra Belle Epoque machine dominating the counter you would expect a better showing on the coffee front.
Much room for improvement.
When you walk into a cafe and see a synesso behind the bar, for the most part, you know this is an establishment that at least wants to look like they are serious about their coffee.
At Mars Hill they are indeed serious about the liquid extractions.
The espresso is rich and smooth and can be accompanied by a wide range of treats savoury or sweet.
The only down side is the strange buzzing coaster that notifies you when your order is ready...table service would give a much better impression.
Great place to hang out and enjoy easily some of the best coffee in the outer west.
It's been a while since I've been back in NZ and stumbled upon this new little Allpress outlet....there were brochures for cupping and educating your coffee palate so I was quite expectant to see what I would find in the cup.
Allpress generally has pretty good coffee, but I was slightly dissapointed by what was served up...ordered a flat white but the coffee was under extracted and not really up to scratch...and did not match other Allpress coffees I've had in the past.
The styling of the tiny cafe was great...and there was the entire range of Allpress blends and single origins available...
