Atmosphere and service was ok, but prices are ridiculous! I'd avoid. Come on, if you want to charge $19.90 for eggs Benedict, and $4.90 for a cafe latte then they should be exceptional. Unfortunately they weren't. The coffee was average at best, something I'd have expected 10 years ago.

Overall the menu prices are over the top it seemed. Il be trying nearby Ziffs next time.

Food good and welcome friendly, but I wouldn't waste my time with the coffee.

Firstly, they use Illy beans (freshly roasted in Italy)? With so many excellent freshly roasted NZ beans available, I don't understand why you would do this if you are interested in making good coffee? Good coffee starts with fresh beans.

Secondly, the latte I asked for was too hot and had little or no foam. It was like instant coffee. The replacement I asked for was little better, with a bit of cappuccino froth on top. Maybe I got the apprentice coffee maker, but for a busy Saturday afternoon coffee should b...

Nice setting, and nice interior an atmosphere.

However, while service was good, simple things like delivering coffees without sugar at the table makes customer have to get up and search.

Also, the to carparks immediately in front are \'reserved\'. Turns out these are for the owner! Not sure what that says about the customer service thinking, but if the few carparks are full you have to park around the corner. Very odd.

Coffee good though.

The Sandfly Cafe

The place I always visit in Te Anau for a consisently good coffee and food.
I have been coming to Fiordland for years filming and have found that the Sandfly is the place that locals favour (you'll always bump into people here that you know).

Nice interior space with several couches to relax on, or if it's sunny pick a nice seat outside under umbrellas.

Friendly staff. I rate it.

A wayward Kiwi boy stopped through here on the way back home to his Vibiemme domobar super in NZ (after an absence of 2 months) to find a master brewer of good coffee.

I found it hard to find a really good coffee in Seattle - surprisingly. Once I found Herkimer and the very hospitable owner Kara my search was over. I really enjoyed the cafe, and the friendly banter with clients.

It turned out that Kara is also a passionate supporter of anything New Zealand, so if you want to talk about Dan Carter, the All Blacks, or NZ music (she'll have it on in the sound system in a flash), she's ...

Visited this morning with a friend visiting from Denmark. Beaut day in Capital so headed around to Oriental Bay and ended up here.

Nice location near the waterfront and nice to sit outside in the sun after the poor weather we've been getting.

Ordered a couple of coffees and a couple of muffins for brunch.

Coffee sadly was one of the worst I've had in Wgtn. Latte was weak and there was little frothing of milk - very insipid. I asked for another one and while this was a lot better it was not up to the standard I'd expect.

Muffins were big and nice, but uncovered and I'm not sure wh...

Nestled amongst native bush, beside the Khandallah pool, you can't beat listening to Tui birds singing while you drink a latte or two. An idyllic setting, a little out of the way, but you'll be pleased you found it..

Good food, great coffee and the owners Georga and Terry are nice people, and the staff friendly. It's become the cafe of my choice to take people to, or to have lunch and a quiet read of the paper.

It had a good review in the paper a while back, so don't just go on my recommendations: http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/local/cafe-reviews/1750035/Cafe-du-Parc
