Such a nice environment and very popular. Came in about 3 months ago on a weekend and had about a 20 minute wait outside just to get a seat. Slightly annoying considering that there were a total of 40 seats reserved for 'walkers' etc, but thats their business decision. Had a lovely savoury mince and the staff, amidst the business, were really helpful.
I will admit that I got a terribly burnt Short Black - but the guys on the machine knew it was - they we're in between adjusting the machine so its understandable. Without ask they offered another coffee but I didn't accept. On other visits how...

Today the boys at Blackboard were on the money. A well balanced short machiatto had some nice flavours and left a very pleasant aftertaste. I stupidly purchased a Orange and Lemon juice that was just brimming with sour lemon and somewhat ruined my experience but being a coffee forum I'll say it as it is. Nice job the boys - a nice little coffee was extracted by the boys today.

Only other criticism - the waiter was slightly abrasive and looked a lilttle bit over it!

Varsity's first establishment is really quite questionable. Serving the old faithful - merlo, the man on the machine seems to churn out a number of coffees but they seem to serve their coffee in massive cups to overcome the fact the coffee is blatently over-extracted. So after a very milky latte I sampled a short machiatto and it was significantly overexposed and bitter.

As for the meals, by the end of it my lunch bill came to over $40 just for myself... A bit steep for what your getting and I usually wouldn't mind if their was good service but I was thrown into a corner and left... Not my ...

Good Coffee - have heard about this place through the grape vines a few times in the past month and I was quite impressed!
