I'm a bit of a cafe snob and used to loathe going through to Glasgow as the reputedly best place for coffee, Tinderbox, spawn of Mathew Algie Coffee, was always a bitter disappointment.

This is a bakery/cafe that uses the finest ingredients for everything. The bread is the best I've tasted and they bake over 100 loaves a day. You can see the baker at work through a large glass window.
The coffee is from Artisan Roast and is very, very good. Strong through milk without that common burnt flavour. It's also satisfying as a straight espresso.
The 3 gp La Marzocco is kept very busy and it seems that they have dedicated baristas who don't let novices on the machine.
The milk is well steamed for texture and a good temperature for drinking. Standard latte art hearts and rosettas.
