Well done to those who've brought us this wonderful cafe. This place has a atmosphere with lots of different places to settle in for a fine coffee. Latte was of great cafe standard, smooth, well poured, nice temp. A short mac followed and the espresso was really nice. Great bean selection.
A nice suprise for the east.

Staple cafe for Brunswick. If you go to Brunswick, then you should head to Ray's. The coffee is always brilliant, rich, smooth, well poured. Food is awesome - and quite amazing since the kitchen is just the space behind the counter!
Down to earth, casual and always a great experience.

Apte is brilliant. A very wholesome experience, from coffee through to atmosphere. Decor is homely, the kinda of home you want to live but don't have. The food is outrageously good and they know a lot about coffee. I've never had a bad coffee here. Baristas are baristas, not staff making coffee - so you get a well poured espresso and milk is always smooth. As far as cafe's in the east of Melbourne, this must be one of the best.

Atomica is more than a cafe, they are 'roasters and blenders of fine coffee'. Located on a street with too many coffee shops, this is by far the choice for those that love coffee for what it really should be.
All beans are roasted behind the eating area and is viewable through a glass window. The blends are always amazing, ranging from fairtrade, varying depths of roast and a fine selection of international beans. You can buy beans to take home by the kilogram, or simply enjoy the selection of the day, poured by one of the fine baristas behind the bar. Many other cafes around town use Atomic...

A Minor Place is a must. It's an old house-style building that has been converted into a cafe. There a no shops next door, only more residents, so the atmosphere is always peaceful and still. Plenty of people drop through, but through its location, friendly staff and relaxed crowd, you always feel like your just visiting a friends house.
The coffee is superb. Made with a custom blend from Atomica using a Synesso machine, they are consistently poured with excellence. Full-bodied flavour with richness and depth, this would have to be my favourite cafe blends.
plus... Brilliant food (French toa...
