I found this bookshop/cafe even before it was recommended to me by the locals! Always a sucker for a bookshop, I gravitated toward this one not only for its hefty paperbacks, but for the smell of coffee beans wafting out onto the street. I had a soy latte - a large comes in an enormous but comforting ceramic cup - and it was smooth, hot and the coffee roasted to perfection. The banana and walnut muffin that accompanied it was pure heaven. Sitting on a wicker seat out under the covered terrace watching the world go by, I was very satisfied indeed!!

My morning coffee experience just hasn't been the same since the Bonsoy recall. I lamented this fact to the smiling waitress who took my order for a soy latte last Thursday morning, who agreed unreservedly and told me that Bonsoy is due back (minus dangerous levels of iodine) in February!
I have just moved into the CBD and am seeking the Holy Grail of morning coffees... This has got to come close!
