Yes, the coffee is good, but the decor in this place is way over the top. They are obviously trying to market at the Hendra crowd, which is fine, and probably a good business move, but it's not relaxing at all. It feels over-crowded - kind of like a homewares shop - and way too frou-frou.
Plus, it's air-conditioned and freezing.
The coffee was good, up there with some of the best in Brisbane, but I won't go back purely because of the atmosphere.
I've had coffee at Campos before and it has been fairly good, especially when it was ordered to stay in. This weekend however, was a very different story.
I ordered two 8oz flat whites to go, and when I picked them up something felt wrong, the cups were just too light. I immediately took the lid off and using my finger went in search of actual milk (not foam). I couldn't find any, the cup was simply full of foam.
I am normally loath to take things back, but this was unacceptable, I'm not paying $3.50 for a cup of coffee-flavoured foam.
They of course made us fresh flat whites, but the...
I've had three coffees (flat whites) at Stella Rosa now and really couldn't say that they knocked my socks off. On top of that, one time they used milk that had been sitting on the bench from a previous coffee and wasn't hot enough. It really doesn't make you feel very special to get a coffee made with second-hand milk - where's the love in that?

The industrial setting, sparse but warm furnishings, and gorgeous coffee paraphernalia (such as a roaster on-site) make this my favourite coffee stop in West End. The staff make you feel welcome and at home. I can see Cup developing a real community of friends and coffee lovers due to their passion for coffee and willingness to speak and interact with all visitors to their shop.
