My first coffee stop in NYC and I am not disappointed. I love a coffee that has been poured well so had a smile on my face when my latte came sporting latte art :) The coffee had a definite punch to it though slightly bitter. It is one of the few decent coffee shops in this area, and definitely... Read more
Worth the visit if you're in need of a good latte or flat white. Recommend it
I did some research before travelling to NYC on business and Culture Popped up as a candidate for potentially great coffee. The 20 block walk was worth it - fantastic coffee, the baked goods are pretty awesome also. 2 visits, 3 double machiatto's and a 2 strong latte's later and I was convinced... Read more
3 Short Macchiatos, 2 Lattes
Third visit, espresso still excellent.
Amazing coffee. I had a strong, full bodied latte. Very enjoyable. Pretty awesome chocolate banana bread, too :P Highly recommended.
Worthy flat whites smack bang in the centre of manhattan. Uses stumptown blend but indeed the difference here is that you can sit and people watch.
Holiday in NYC. Found coffee hit and miss. This place - hit. They know their coffee - had a piccollo or cartado confusing/different terms here. Regardless was good and enjoyed it much!
I loved this place! As another Aussie looking for good coffee, this was an oasis in the desert of Starbucks, mcdonalds and other insipid brewed coffees. My long black (short americano) and piccolo latte (cortado) where both perfect, an I had a great chat with the barista/owner. Interestingly, as... Read more

1 Long Black, 2 Espressos
Great flat white. Great sandwich. Worth coming to NYC for
Fantastic latte with strong earthy overtones. Very cool decor, wallpaper and fittings. If you're in New York, go here or Gregory's on 44th. Period.
addendum: ordered a flat white, barista yelled out 'cappuccino' , I said 'no, flat white' barista: 'it's the same thing' Well, yes and no, but worrying coming from a barista
Culture Espresso Bar serves the best cup of coffee in mid-town Manhattan. That being said, it is not one of the great coffee places in the city.
The atmosphere is OK. It is generally very crowded and not at all relaxing.
Because of the location, I go often. I find... Read more
5 Cappuccinos, 5 Espressos, 5 Short Macchiatos
Fantastic espresso!!!
New York City is wonderful but the coffee is terrible! We were desperate two days into our stay but came across this gem. Culture Espresso Bar became the destination of our daily pilgrimage. They take coffee very seriously offering a range of methods. We couldn't go past the flat white (it's owned... Read more
Since the closure of RBC NYC, Culture Esspresso Bar is leading the way in the city's midtown coffee scene - and unlike Stumptown, you can take a seat and watch the world go by. Hands down, the best flat white in midtown. As an Aussie, I was in NY for work and dying for a strong brew with texture. A... Read more
Great atmosphere. Awesome soundtrack. Friendly service and decent seating. Seems fairly new/unfinished.
Very entertaining reading all the Aussies 'starving in the dessert' looking for good coffee. I'm amongst them - after having lived in Buenos Aires for 4 months - the birthplace of awful coffee - this place was a refuge, would go back there in a heartbeat.
1 Flat White
Another Aussie looking for a decent coffee. This cafe is a great find in NYC.
Yes this is a goodie. They were too busy to talk handling the pre-work morning rush. But I noted they use naked handles. My espresso was creamy textured. Flavor was a little unusual but certainly not bitter from over roasting.
went here twice. Wouldn't write home about it but beats chain coffee. Staff slightly aloof, one barista was channeling Bob Dylan pretty impressively.
