Tucked away from the street this Blue Bottle outlet is really nice.
Yes there is a queue but am sure this is part of the planned atmosphere (with some re-planning they could reduce this substantially IMO).
Food looked good - freshly prepared and well received by the... Read more
1 Latte, 1 Short Macchiato
Awesome coffee. Awesome food! There is generally a que due to a funny way of taking orders. But worth it! Ps- I actually had one of the best coffees ever down at the Blue Bottle cafe at the Ferry Building!
Very well hyped coffee place in SF, one of the older (for SF) roasters/coffee places. Most people put SF coffee between Philz and Blue Bottle, and it's no competition. But there are other players that people don't know about...
I only visited their kiosk on 315 Linden St (an... Read more
1 Skinny Latte, 1 Soy Cappuccino, 1 Short Macchiato
By far the best coffee I\'ve found in San Francisco. Great breakfast and syphon coffees, good espresso. Service is a little slow and sometimes moody but as said above, best coffee in SF.
This cafe had wonderful coffee - best so far in the US! Smooth milk, nice latte art. If anything, the coffee was a little weak. The particular outlet that we went to was a little hidden off Market Street, but there is also an outlet in the Fisherman's Wharf area, which looked incredibly busy. ... Read more
1 Skinny Latte
Unbelievable. Fantastic. If you're from Australia and you like a flat white ask for a small cappuccino or large latte (quad shot) Sooo good! Worth the walk from Union Square!
Lovely fit out and great place to sit and enjoy the coffee. Clearly a popular spot as we had to queue out the door though it took an age to get served! Coffee packs a punch up front but lacked any finish and the taste quicky faded and the milk became the dominant taste, a shame! Worth a visit though :-)
There are a few Blue Bottles, but Mint Plaza is the one to go to. They have the full compliment of siphon coffee, espresso drinks, and chemistry set exotic drip coffee. Mint plaza is itself full of character, the space a is amazing with a common table in the middle.

5 Long Macchiatos, 5 Espressos, 3 Cappuccinos, 2 Syphons, 1 Cold Drip
Delicious coffee every single time :)
3 Skinny Cappuccinos
Long line out the door, but the coffee was definitely worth the wait! Great atmosphere and coffee, and fast service once I ordered.
By far the best coffee I've had in the US to date! Rich earthy flavours and great latte art. I was surprised at how quiet it was on a Saturday morning. That did, however, make for fast service and a relaxed experience :)
Blue Bottle ! Thanks for the coffee was one of the most complex so far ! littlerly had the pour over Ethiopian and the after taste lasted all the way walking from 6th to 14th street nice set up and cool people have sent many people your way from Australia and was finially happy to meet you.
1 Long Black, 1 Pour Over
Hands down the best coffee I have had in the US. Ask for a small cap and you'll get an Australian flat white. The siphon machine is amazing.
Very good coffee, had a Gibraltar as recommend by a local, it was close to a strong flat white and the best I've had in the USA.
Close to perfection, lots of impressive equipment and experienced passionate staff. The syphon system they have is a work of art. Assides from perfect coffee they have great waffles. You can also buy equipment like syphons from them. I will be booking a hotel close to them next time I'm in San Francisco .
We visited the cafe in the Old Mint Building while on holiday in San Francisco on numerous occasions, and the coffee was of extremely high quality every single time. The setting within a historic building makes for an interesting ambience and this is aided by a well selected layout and retro... Read more
Blue Bottle was recommended by some New Yorkers I met inside Gimme Coffee, Manhattan. I drank at the Ferry Building outlet. They take their coffee seriously, and knew how to make flat whites - not a skill readily found in all parts of the USA! The Ferry Building in itself is a fascinating place -... Read more
Spot on contemp cafe perfect for a jet lag java pick me up. Friendly staff great coffee
First decent coffee since arriving in the US, apart from the ones I made with my Aeropress and beans from Aus! Espresso was great, but very ristretto. Lattes were a little on the weak side because of this ristretto craze, but were well made with good latte art. Well worth the visit!
We had poached eggs and Large Caps at Blue Bottle, and the coffee was the best we've had in the US so far. These guys are serious about coffee, and open early, so it's a great way to start the day.
I have gone out of my way & waited in lines for their coffee.
For a long time, it was just a kiosk. Now, they have a cafe and can also be found at the ferry building farmer's market on saturdays. If you are traveling to San Francisco, this would be a fun thing to do, with the added bonus... Read more
