Excellent cafe with great coffee and plenty of space to hang around. Great espresso and a good focus on the coffee. Interesting vibe, very slightly 'alternative' which is in contrast to its somewhat well-heeled location. Would definitely return.
Best coffee in Birmingham. The crew are are all seriously passionate about their product. Make sure you get the Aussie barista, and order a piccolo.
I had a very good double espresso today just before closing time. Staff was still very friendly even though they were closing up on a sunday afternoon. Minimum charge for credit card payments is 5 pounds and a double is just 1.85 so just keep that in mind if you're only carrying plastic (as I was).

Nice place Carrot cakes are good and not so sweet Coffee is ok but nothing interesting, capuccino was more a bucket than the refined drink it should be
I've tried this place several times so feel I've given it a good go. The coffee is good (but never great) at times and mediocre at others, service similar.

Urban coffee is a blessing and a curse (but not really). It serves me some of the best coffee I've ever tasted but it also opened my eyes to the terrible brown dribbles that so many places try and pass off as the real stuff.
Staff are lovely, atmosphere is great. The kind of place you can set... Read more
I'm a regular at this coffee house. The quality is very good, so I take colleagues and consultants there for a break, it never fails to impress. The staff have a great knowledge about the products, they seem to do a lot of training too.

This is one of my favourite coffee shops in the whole of the Midlands and I do not recognise it from the poor reviews.
There is a medley of community activity and creativity from reading to knitting clubs. This is a company that promotes the local coffee and arts scenes.

I'm a mobile worker and sometimes find the need to work in Birmingham city centre, and have been visiting Urban Coffee both in Church Street (this one) and the other outlet in JQ. I like my coffee but am no expert - and in both places it seems pretty good to my non-demanding palate!
