Marvellous dinky corner cafe serious about coffee. Sunken smoking terrace perfect for true old-style espresso ritual. Another jewel in Edinburgh's enviable coffee crown.
Was very excited to find this place on Beanhunter and pay it a visit whilst in Edinburgh. Visiting Edinburgh twice in two weeks, I got to pay a few visits!
First Weekend: Overall the coffee was quite good although slightly bitter. Nice little synesso and two Anfims to choose from... Read more
I have been here a few times and whilst the coffee is always quite good, it does vary a little in consistency, depending on the barista. Hidden downstairs on a bustling Edinburgh corner, this cafe is a hit with local business men/women. When I last visited, they were using a Brazilian bean with... Read more
After Hogmanay night this cafe was a most welcome sight on the first day of the year - not to mention one of the very few open! Flat white was superb, as was the long black. Good strong coffee blend. Fresh scones and jam were yummy!!
Probably my favourite wee place for a coffee in centre of town. Using square mile beans always good for a cappa or flat white. Daily baked scones and a small selection of cakes and slices compliment the coffee well. Not a lot of seating though!!
A little lower ground cafe. Well equipped with a Synesso machine. About 13 seats and a steady stream of takeaways. Flat White was creamy, but good strength kicking at the back end without getting too bitter. Great big apricot scones served with Rhubarb and Ginger jam. Tasted home made.
Don't trust the geolocation which sends you to the wrong spot, this is in the middle of Newtown. Good coffee, NZ style and best i came across in UK. Recommended even if it were actually in Wellington.
Great and extremely tasty and consistent square mile coffee. You've got to try it
This is one of only a few good coffee shops in Edinburgh. Coffee like it should be. Smooth espresso, great micro-foam and some nice latte art too! Service quick and easy with a smile. Do it!
Hunted this coffee place down whilst visiting Edinburgh and was extremely pleased to have found it. Great smooth, perfectly sized, flat whites and fantastic home made food. Well worth a visit!
Consider myself a serious cafe hunter. This one fits the bill. Good barista (Aussie from Adelaide), good machine, good beans. Flat white was near perfect. Also great is the food. Fantastic home made soups. Right in town centre and well worth a visit.
