Came back a second time to this place and ordered a takeaway latte. I was really pleased that it was as good as last time. The shot didn't quite catch the sweetness of the blend but the milk was not too hot and spun nicely. My friend who had her own takeaway was most excited to have somewhere in... Read more

Went back recently again and had a cap. Surprisingly the coffee tasted alot better. I believe it had to do with the roasting of the beans. It is alot lighter than what I remembered previously and that probably accounts for the coffee not being as bitter. Kudos.

    Felt I should... Read more

Coffee is great here. Microroastery that roasts every tuesday. My regular beans supplier. Highly recommended!

Great little cafe tucked away where you wouldn't find it. Not cheap but worth the bit extra.

The previous review I wrote did not accurately reflect the scores I had intended, I think there was an error when the new entry was submitted for inclusion. I'm reposting the same review with the actual scores I intended. Will try to get the moderators to remove the previous review.

Another gem in Singapore's crown of specialty coffee places. Had a well balanced piccolo and my friend one of their specialty teas, forget the name sorry. Nice place and cosy atmosphere with very attentive staff. Definitely be back for more.

This little hole in the wall takes their coffee really seriously, and feels a bit of a coffee lab. One afternoon I was there, the owner was hosting a tasting session of some coffee samples with a couple of other persons. The barista noticed my curious stares and explained that they were trying... Have visited Smitten a couple of times and to sum it up, I have always enjoyed myself there. The bosses/baristas were great hosts, there were the creamy cappuccinos for the coffee lovers, and the gourmet tea palettes for the tea enthusiasts. You should definitely head down and give it a try,... Read more

Smitten Coffee and Tea is too cute. It's small, cozy cafe located north of Clarke Quay. The first thing I noticed was the Giesen Roaster, then it was the baristas greeting me with smiles. Coffee is great! Smitten is a great place to relax and take a break from the sun. The baristas are attentive... Read more

Coffee Nirvana found. Awesome coffee that is freshly roasted, pulled by a couple of kickass baristas, in a totally cool cafe = a perfect cappucino. The coffee was so smooth and sweet and the milk so velvety, it kind of redefines for me what great coffee should be.

    Coffee was... Read more

Smitten is the 3rd cafe I am trying as my coffee trail continues with the newly launched Disloyalty Card. Being one of the few local artisan roasters around, their coffee menu was filled with exotic sounding single origins. They have of course the usual range of espresso-based drinks, and also... This new joint at Robertson Quay roasts their own beans on site, and offers a few single-origin coffee on both espresso based drinks as well as Chemex. I tried a latte made on their in-house Thumper Blend, and it was fabulous both taste wise and presentation (beautiful latte art!). I stay around... Read more

Nice little cafe serving good coffee although location a bit hidden. They roast their own beans and owner Darren is friendly and knows his stuff.

We were literally hunting for this place as it's a bit hard to find, but worth the walk along the riverside to such an adorable cafe and the coffee was heavenly! There were also other Beanhunter cafes nearby.

Had a cold drip coffee which was nicely balanced. The single origin coffee was quite bright but the cold ice did help tune that down a little. A nice beverage. Friendly owners, food menu a bit sparse but the coffees are pretty decent.

I was bowled over by the excellent quality of the coffee at Smitten Coffee and Tea Bar. Testing a serious coffee place for me involves trying a espresso, a cappuccino, and a macchiato which I did over a few visits.

The espresso was perfectly pulled. It had a remarkable crema whose... Read more

Very good coffee, very good little cakes (the macaroons particularly). The staff seemed a little distracted. I am not surprised it is difficult to find, though, as the map has it on the wrong side of the river.

One of my favourite places in Singapore to enjoy a quality brew. Owner Darren really knows what he is doing and is never afraid of showing it. Love the Giesen roaster in the shop entry and the Mirage lever awaiting like a beast stalking its prey. Shot's off this bad boy come out smooth and clean,... Read more

A friend brought me here for lunch one day, with the promise of decent food and good coffee. I didn't get either.

It was a fairly busy lunch hour and the cooking smells filled the interior of the cafe. I didn't see any exhaust pipes and the odours from the sandwich grill was quite... Read more

After reading on the Straits Times of the few new coffee places that opened in Singapore this year, my wife and I decided to try some of them. We started with the 1 nearest to our home, which is Smitten at Robertson Quay.

We were there on a Saturday afternoon, and it was packed to... Read more

Owner there has a Giesen roaster upfront in the shop. They roast their own beans. Somehow alot of consumers like to assume if there is a roaster in the shop, the coffee has to be good.

On the contrary, it was a pity though that they roast away any flavour nuances a Brazil COE... Read more
