Seems to be a student hangout place. I felt like I was in a day care centre when I walked in. Cashier had a bit of an attitude when I finally got her attention. And the order took forever to arrive, they were a little busy but 20 mins was a fairly long wait for a pastry and 2 coffees I thought. And... Read more

We took a seat outdoors because the interior hardly has any breathing space. It's a nightmare if you are claustrophobic and the same even if you aren't. The outdoor seats are fine provided weather conditions... Read more

Still a big fan of their coffee, but as it appears for the last couple of times when I was there, more work to be done on the service and food quality. I sincerely hope they do not take their success for granted.

First visit here was bustling and I had a tasty piccolo and a sandwich before rushing off. Loved the outlook of the place although the crew looked a little startled and although the coffee was pleasant, I had to wait for awhile for the sandwich.
Second visit was just for an afternoon... Read more
1 Piccolo, 2 Espressos
Heard about this cafe through a friend's iphone photo of the 'train lookalike' grinder that's inside the cafe. The first thing you'll notice is it's location - tucked away at an industrial building in a remote Kampung Bugis, only accessible by car. Second thing you'll appreciate is the cafe's... Read more
Flat whites are full-bodied with a great, silky mouthfeel. They even offer coffee pairings (two kinds of filtered coffee served side by side), sandwiches, and gorgeously goopy homemade-style cakes. I've been known to make the trip to Papa Palheta (a 20-30 minute cab ride, when it's raining) when I... Read more
Loysel's Toy cafe is a really difficult cafe to get to, especially if you do not drive. So after a long walk from the MRT to this little joint by the river, I simply had to start off with an iced latte. The coffee was fairly well-done. I mean I have never really tasted out-of-the world good iced... Read more

had a piccolo latte which was strong and aromatic! however, i still prefer the one served by Oriole.
really nice place with ambience, especially nice for a meetup or meeting. lots of creative types gather here, and was quite crowded even on a weekday afternoon!

This is my second trip to Loysel's Toys. I have drank Papa Palheta beans since last year and enjoy the dynamism of the team and the beam rack selection. Loysel's Toys has a Clover which is the reason I head out here. The Clover machine is still a much revered brewing machine despite the new... Read more

I went there recently. I was not greeted by them. Neither giving a good impression for first time customer nor provide a right temperature of coffee ( too hot, I bet they wanted to burn my tongue ), a place where all Chinese baristas are working.
My 3rd time here.
Tried their seasonal blend of brazil and Colombian beans. Very strong chocolatey nutty taste. Mild and not acidic. It's really nice as usual.
However, the same cant be said for their service. 3rd time here and service is slipping. Barista is rude, floor... Read more
I love the coffee and the nice ambience. The barista is well versed.
A friend of mine told me about this cafe and it having a nice ambience with good coffee to boot. Took a cab down as the location seem very inaccessible by public transport. Loved the environment. It was a rainy day and as such, the place wasn't very crowded. Had a cappuccino that had a nice... Read more

Brought to you by the people behind Papa Palheta Specialty Coffee, this laidback cafe at the bottom of a lone industrial warehouse building caught between the park and a river, serves excellent espresso coffees. On my first visit, I was encouraged by the guys behind the counter to NOT sugar my... Read more
in terms of the quality of the cuppa, this is by far the better coffee houses you can find in Singapore. beans are freshly roasted and packed by Loysel's Toy's sister coffee retail Papa Palheta, so you can be assured of the coffee's freshness. A big fan of their single origins, you can always find... Read more
