The coffee was too big, not used to NZ's lattes. Coffee wasn't too appealing. Messy benches and not much eye for detail.
1 Latte, 1 Latte
Great "Northern Exposure" atmosphere! Service ok. Over extracted bongo.
A great little cafe with a really happening vibe! Sadly the coffee was over-extracted and bitter.
Ordered a latte, comes in a larger size ceramic... Not much on big coffees.... Coffee has a good aroma, lacks texture and has an unusual lingering aftertaste on the tip of the tongue. Place looks really funky, has music to suit.
Baristas seem to be fairly messy, with way to much beans in the... Read more
I had high hopes for this cafe given the last couple of reviews but unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The rustic atmosphere and service weren't too bad. On the other hand, my flat white used coffee that was over roasted and an over extracted shot, resulting in a bitter coffee.
For the coffee lover. Strong brew, great caffeine hit and hard not to go for a 2nd cup
Unfortunately this coffee wwas too bad to drink! The place itself is quite cool, but the coffee was not good. A mix of a dirty machine, bad beans and not well made. Don't bother with coffee here...
Let's be honest here -- this is the best coffee you'll find on the West side of the South Island. My piccolo (they're called bongos there!) was strong, and went down a treat with my pancakes, bacon, banana and maple syrup. The residue on the top of the coffee was a thin oil, just as it should be,... Read more
2 Piccolos, 2 Piccolos
Excellent coffee during my two visits here. Flat white came in standard cup (see photo I uploaded) and was easily on par with any of the better cafes in Sydney and Melbourne. My friend's cappuccino came in a mug, but he also found it to be the best coffee we had so far in Queenstown.
Coffee is ok. Just ok. Machine is filthy and they serve lattes in giant mugs! Wouldn't bother with coffee here.
Tucked away cafe, friendly staff coffee was good although a little dirty. Worth a look
Queenstown may be the first Joe's Garage, but I prefer the Wellington cafe for coffee, although it is very noisy, so loses out on atmosphere - unless you are a spy passing trade secrets!.
1 Cappuccino, 1 Soy Flat White, 1 Espresso, 1 Cappuccino, 1 Soy Flat White, 1 Espresso
Cool little cafe with garage theme. Reasonable coffee, good milk technique but espresso lacks care, flush regime needs attention.
Return visitor , wouldn't miss brekky or brunch here. The balance of hustle bustle and little cafe is a great atmosphere. The coffee is strong and fresh. The food fresh, simple and tasty.
