PERFECTION. Probably the best roaster and set of amazing baristas in Asia. Go there and you'll see what I mean.Fantastic coffee, food, gelato and coffee art. Amazing array of beans. Serious stuff. Very popular indeed.
2 Espressos, 1 Affogato, 1 Piccolo
Its hard to get an early morning coffee in HK as most artisan places open late, but managed to get across to this store around 8am.
They roast on site, which is always a good sign, and have reasonable options for a coffee. Had a piccolo and flat white, nothing to rave about, it was... Read more
1 Flat White, 1 Piccolo
This is right in the heart of Central and is easy to find.
A few years ago, their coffee and tastes would have set the bar in Hong Kong. Now that HK has a growing coffee scene, Holly Brown has not kept pace and is no longer at the forefront.
Having said this,... Read more
1 Espresso, 1 Long Macchiato, 1 Cappuccino
Had a quick lunch here today. My espresso was well-made, though I'd concur with one of the earlier reviewers about their roast being too dark.
I also have to comment on the size of my espresso. In Italy (and most places I've drunk espresso) it would count as a ristretto. It left me wondering... Read more
This cafe reminds me of a Starbucks , very chain like , everything mass produced incl the coffee which was very average. There are better places to go to get a good coffee.
Sadly becoming a chain and going down hill fast. Fast expansion of this cafe into a chain has taken its toll on the roasting, definitely the last time i visit or recommend this cafe. Gelato and fancy ice creams seem to be the core of their business now, can no longer be considered a decent coffee place.
Stylish industrial loft ambiance framed by white couches and chairs. Had a double machiatto. Found the extraction too long and the milk too thin for my taste. They seem to roast their house blend darker than usual. Had nice hints of floral bouquet but over powered by the dark roasting. Affogatto... Read more
Coffee is excellent. They roast their own beans and they have a few different varieties to try.
I can see why people feel this is a chain place and indeed it had the advantage of a huge amount of space (2 floors) and a gourmet ice cream counter as well. All upsides! The downside is... Read more
Surprisingly good coffee for what will be a chain. Still has a Starbucks feel to it but the coffee is good.
Coffee's great during my 2 visits there. A piccolo and a cap. They have obviously very skilled baristas. Espresso extremely well-pulled and sweetly frothed milk.A pretty commercialized place which is semi coffee enthusiastic and dessert-y at the same time. Good that they are easily accessible,... Good bean selection, though roasted a bit dark. They have Kopi Luwak, Blue Mountain, and a Kona. Ask for a siphon brew if you want brewed, or the piccolo latte isn't bad. Food so-so , gelato average, and atmosphere is horrible.
Best in the area
Pleasant experience...nice espresso and tasty food too!
I was very disappointed with the coffee at this cafe. After reading some of the reviews I thought it would at least be okay. However, I found the expresso to one of the worst I have ever tasted. I ordered a double expresso with cream and there was not even enough for a single shot and it was cold.... Read more
Great piccolo latte served here and consistent everytime, regardless of the barista.
IMO, on par with the piccolo latte served in Singapore's Oriole and better than the one i've have had in Barista Jam.
Ambience wise, it is chain like and not the typical... Read more
Home cafe to the renowned grand Barista champion of hong kong, Tracy KWOK. Holly brown hire great baristas, roast their own beans in house, and serve exceptional home made gelato. Great tasting picolo latte and a smooth fresh tasting espresso are the highlights if this cafe.
