I have been here a few times and whilst the coffee is always quite good, it does vary a little in consistency, depending on the barista. Hidden downstairs on a bustling Edinburgh corner, this cafe is a hit with local business men/women. When I last visited, they were using a Brazilian bean with apricot, dried fruit, and nuts. It was a little bitter and the milk was too bubbly but there was nice latte art. Other times I have not had any bitterness and the milk has been perfect. They have very limited seating and a limited but delicious menu.... I recommend the breakfast roll and the scones...
Read More → Like • Share • ReportConsider myself a serious cafe hunter. This one fits the bill. Good barista (Aussie from Adelaide), good machine, good beans. Flat white was near perfect. Also great is the food. Fantastic home made soups. Right in town centre and well worth a visit.
Like • Share • ReportWas very excited to find this place on Beanhunter and pay it a visit whilst in Edinburgh. Visiting Edinburgh twice in two weeks, I got to pay a few visits!
First Weekend: Overall the coffee was quite good although slightly bitter. Nice little synesso and two Anfims to choose from (with Square Mile beans). We had a couple of cappuccino's and a Short Macchiato, but to be honest, the flat whites that were served up next to us (by a different barista) looked really amazing...

A little lower ground cafe. Well equipped with a Synesso machine. About 13 seats and a steady stream of takeaways. Flat White was creamy, but good strength kicking at the back end without getting too bitter. Great big apricot scones served with Rhubarb and Ginger jam. Tasted home made.
