I expected so much from this place, and not without good reason. It's an institution in terms of Danks St cafe culture and dozens of my previous visits had been stellar experiences.

But it's been 6mths since my last visit and, sadly, this place has lost its mojo. The food offerings are still brilliant and the service warm and welcoming. But the "vibe" and the great coffee is gone.

Bitter espresso and frothy, superheated milk seems to be the order of the day. And, if you're lucky, you may actually get what you ordered. Looking into your saucer an finding a hair is also pretty unpleasant.
