It was fine, but I had to settle for a double ristretto long macchiato three quarters because they didn't know what I meant by caffe a la sofisticato.

Very well balanced single shot cap. Milk textured beautifully and shot was the right colour and smooth taste. But it was only warm which was a bummer.

It was nice to come back here after a long break, and it's not too bad!

Back in the day, when Beanhunter was just getting going, this vibrant place used to be one of the best in Perth. My friends and I would go nowhere else if in the CBD.

Then the founder and owner sold and moved on to Nedlands (Elixir Coffee Specialists).

Velvet maintained a high standard for a while, but then it went downhill and seemed to be running off their previous reputation. We found better places and moved on.

Great to be able to return after a long time and re-review Velvet.

The coffee is good. A little too hot...

Hands down the best piccolos in the country! I fly for a living and I've had coffees in all of Australia's capital cities and Velvet takes 1st place! Velvet's piccolos are smooth and creamy, strong and come out within minutes of ordering. The boys are attentive and work efficiently with an emphasis on quality. I am instantly recognized when I walk in and welcomed back. Well done to the gang at Velvet on King Street, Perth city.

Nothing pretentious here, just a nice cafe on the business end of town. The coffee has a beautiful taste, is nicely presented and is delivered with a smile.
