Vella Nero a 'good' cafe in the centre of Sydney CBD? I had my doubts confirmed. Did they AIM to be a 'good' cafe?....i dont think so. I suspect when the owners got together and started planning this cafe i think they had one goal in mind. To either educate or impress the caffeine hounds of Australia's financial epicentre, successfully doing both. I couldn't help but over-hear the amazing array of orders that came through over a small rush in the morning. The coffee there is prepared carefully and with a determined passion to ensure consistency in all coffees BUT i wouldn't advise a nice sit d...

An oasis in the middle of Sydney—great selection of food and drinks. Friendly staff. My cold drip brew was one of the best I've ever had: very intense, yet smooth. A recommended spot.

Vella Nero had an outstanding selection of single
Origins, in cold drip and filter press. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Loved the sparkling cold drip actually goes quite well. Very good coffee here, defenately know what a good brew is all about

Was shattered visiting Vella Nero on the Queens birthday long week end Saturday when all I wanted was to smell some roasting beans and have one of the delish short blacks everyone talks about. PLEASE GUYS STAY OPEN LONG WEEKENDS. especially when i see you all eating breakfast in there and drinking liquid gold, teasing me in the cold. A fried who visits all the time asked me to rate according to her experience. look forward to coming when you are open!

Vella Nero had been in the in the news and even became a sponsor of the Aroma Festival once. But having an impressive atmosphere does not sum up for the coffee sold in this place. Their take aways are just as bad as the liquid ash sold in Starbucks, even if sweeten, the coffee is still awful.
But I did not want that to be my last swing, so I went there and sat down for a café latte, and I enjoyed it. But when I went back for a take away, I threw it out after the first sip.
So my verdict is, Vella Nero is only good if you want to have in, and buy your take aways from the KLink window just ne...

Service is exceptional here. Actually interested in each customer and treat you in a way that makes you want to return.

Had a sit-down macchiato which they serve with immaculate presentation on a slim rectangular plate with a mini glass of still water (see images).

Only regret is that they aren't open on weekends. I shall return!
