Vella Nero a 'good' cafe in the centre of Sydney CBD? I had my doubts confirmed. Did they AIM to be a 'good' cafe?....i dont think so. I suspect when the owners got together and started planning this cafe i think they had one goal in mind. To either educate or impress the caffeine hounds of Australia's financial epicentre, successfully doing both. Origins, in cold drip and filter press. Service was very welcoming and friendly. Loved the sparkling cold drip actually goes quite well. Very good coffee here, defenately know what a good brew is all about
Was shattered visiting Vella Nero on the Queens birthday long week end Saturday when all I wanted was to smell some roasting beans and have one of the delish short blacks everyone talks about. PLEASE GUYS STAY OPEN LONG WEEKENDS. especially when i see you all eating breakfast in there and drinking liquid gold, teasing me in the cold. A fried who visits all the time asked me to rate according to her experience. look forward to coming when you are open!

Service is exceptional here. Actually interested in each customer and treat you in a way that makes you want to return.
Had a sit-down macchiato which they serve with immaculate presentation on a slim rectangular plate with a mini glass of still water (see images).
Only regret is that they aren't open on weekends. I shall return!
