Fantastic coffee spot , the best in the cbd. The staff are so great too , and the food good. It\'s hidden but a real find. Well worth the detour .

My long black was pretty good too. All the paraphernalia, especially the roaster at the front door. Just adds to the experience
Reviewed by: franksting | Date: 21st January 2010 via iPhone App | Report this reviewI've been in Sydney for almost 4 months for work and I a friend recommended Beanhunter. Thanks to this app I discovered this great cafe which is a 5 minute walk from my apartment!
Had my first coffee from here today...fantastic! Loved the look of the cafe and the vibe...and the fact they roast there own coffee!
Will definitely be back!
Brilliant coffee, best service in the CBD.
The milk coffees are incredibly rich and strong, but in no way bitter.
It's my favourite cafe in the city without a question. Coffee, food and service are all exceptional. I don't mind making a detour there on the way to work because it's worth it. Their coffee is roasted in-house (by one of the owners - they are 3 amazing sisters) and is always smooth and full-flavoured. I get my beans there for home too and like to try out different origins. Nothing compares to it in the city.
Reviewed by: zecoffee | Date: 12th January 2010 | Report this reviewVella is one of the things that makes a trip into Sydney city worth while. One of the few cafe's I know that can make a macchiato that's sweet and smooth as it ought to be.
They have a great option of buying a pre-paid coffee card - pay for eight of your regulars, get your ninth cup free. then just hand over your card as you get greeted by name with no need to rummage around for change.
They've also got branded keep-cups (http://www.keepcup.com.au/) so you can be kind to the planet as well as your coffee receptors.
I love everything about Vella Nero.
Everyone is so friendly, and they obviously love what they do. They even helped me find a coffee machine for my home.
The coffee is great. The food is awesome, and if you subscribe to their Twitter you can check their daily lunch specials and get a tip off for when they're releasing some of their special one off blends for an afternoon pick up.
Upstairs is pretty noisy, but a great place for an off site meeting.
I change my route to work a few times a week for a coffee from Vella Nero. Make sure you pick up a bag of their award winning beans - roasted on site.
Went here based on the previous review and had 2 double macs and they were both perfect. While it is a little off the beaten track for me (not really in my area), if I was looking for good coffee near the QVB, this is prob where I would go.
Reviewed by: fridley | Date: 3rd September 2009 | Report this reviewThis roastery and cafe is a very special place. The people who work there really know their coffee and things to do with coffee. I enjoyed a beautiful flat white. I would certainly recommend people go there. It is a real gem.
The designer blend which they serve, won a Sydney Royal Gold Class 1 at the 2008 Fine Food Show. I had to buy some of this coffee for my home.
The staff are extremely friendly and know their customers. The atmosphere is great.
