Friendly cheerful staff smiling and even singing to the music as they serve great coffee and yummy nibbles :-) With just three small tables in the tiny cafe, customers willingly flood across the road to the lawns of Gladstone Park, chilling out on blankets supplied by the Marionettes.
Line up to join the takeaway queue. A small menu of healthy dishes and tempters include pastries from Adriano Zumbo – appealing to any sweet-tooth.
But for me the coffee steals the spotlight with a smooth intense hit and aftertaste of hazelnuts. The fortun...
1 Flat White
The relaxed vibe of the place is good until you realise that the service is also relaxed and the weak coffee did nothing to stir me out of the relaxed mood. Perhaps it's because I attended in the afternoon but the lack of treats to go with the coffee was disappointing.
Found myself heading for Balmain today so decided to finally give The Little Marionette a try.
I was expecting the coffee to be good after reading many reviews.
I was not disappointed.
The place is small though and i considered myself lucky to get a seat just before my coffee was ready.
I'll definitely be back.
One small criticism though; can my latte art please be lined up with the handle so that it's the right way up when I pick up my cup?
A lot of cafes don't get this small detail right and it's simple to do.
Fantastic! I was led here by this guide app. My friend and I came here on Sunday after a 25km run in the rain. She and I grabbed a rug then had some of the best coffee in sydney. Breaky was also fantastic. Loved the atmosphere. It seemed like half balmain also knew about this tiny cafe. Lots of takeaway coffees were bring made for delighted customers. We had to have another before we left. We will be back!

Macchiato was a taste sensation. Complex, rich flavours. Aftertaste was as good as the coffee itself.
Tough to beat sitting in the sun in the park across the road and they will bring your order to you in a glass like you're dining in.
