Premium Coffee served with fantastic freshly prepared and cooked food. What more could you want in a coffee destination. Opening hours are an even better bonus, coffee at 11pm? Great concept guys. Had a house blend long black that was full of fruity flavours but was strong enough for a good afternoon kick then had a Guatemalan short black that was divine.
Like • Share • ReportVisiting the Gold Coast for the day, and couldn't resist checking out Hub to see if it lived up to its amazing reviews. Unfortunately my experience wasn't in line with the majority of them. Everything here was good. Good service, good coffee, nice (if not clinical) fitout. Did it knock my socks off and amaze me? Definitely not, Hub is no different from most average cafes. And I can think of plenty of places that do far better job. I'm not sure if I'm relieved or disappointed to have my assumptions on the credibility of some of these reviews confirmed. Worth a try if you're there? Sure. But per...

I place them in the middle of the field. The coffee is not offensive, but it's definitely not close to perfection
Coffee is ok, sometimes its quite good and other times it has been watery and weak.
Service is not great at all. I once declined ordering a cocktail 3 times in a row from the same order at the same visit to our table. When this waiter asked for the third time he added that he was bored and need someone to order a cocktail so he could entertain himself. Unprofessional.
The atmosphere has been nice from time to time, with live music. However I have noticed that the wait staff stand out on the corner trying to lure people in during the day and even of an evening. There are also ridiculous sign...
A friend recommended the Hub to me last week so I brought my husband down from Brisbane this morning for a long black and some breakfast. Great coffee - perfectly extracted, rich in colour and flavour. I would give a 10/10 but I figure that is reserved for one's favourite cafe. I'll save my 10 for another place in Brisbane, but the Hub definitely proved to be easily the best coffee on the Gold Coast. The Guatemalan single origin was very unique - great flavours but I couldn't quite put my finger on what they were. The staff were also so nice and welcoming - it's a really great experience.
Back again today and once again was not disappointed. I had 2 double shot flat whites which were both perfect in taste, texture and appearance. Brought my wife and she had two short blacks - the first was a house blend that she thought wasn't overly strong, but she couldn't stop raving about her second coffee the Ethiopian single origin. Calamari was also absolutely awesome - so tender and not stringy whatsoever. Loved it - deserving of my first 10.
Have read some great reviews about this place and was not dissapointed. I had both house blend and single origins - both were absolutely beautiful. Finally, a great coffee after 4pm. Reminds me of back in the UK where you can get it 24 hours a day... Tapas was also very nice and had a great chat with one of the young men there - very personal experience. I will be back next week for the new coffee coming in.
After 4 visits in under two weeks I bet you can guess what I am going to write... Love the Hub... Thank you for putting up with us, you guys are the best and my coffee frappes was AMAZING!
The Hub should be #1. 10/10
