Hadn't been here in a while, so I dropped in on the weekend. Had a great flat white. The cups they use are completely gorgeous.
For a Sunday morning the place looked like it was way over staffed and the waitress was almost overly attentive. But within 10 mins it became pretty clear that these guys know their stuff. I looked up from my book and there was no longer a vacant seat in the house. The baristas looked fairly calm and the stream of people getting take away coffees looked ceaseless.
Wondering exactly how well they'd maintain the standards during such a busy period I ordered an espres...
Like my recent review of Padre's South Melbourne Market Cafe, I've got nothing but praise for BEP.
Staff = Awesome
Coffee = both beans and delivery are consistently of very high quality
Cafe = the redesign is very effective and made a great space better
Slayers = what can I say.
Decaf = the first time in my life I didn't gag

Flat white and piccolo were faultless. Cool set-up with a 5kg HasGaranti batch roasting in the middle of the cafe. Was keen for a coffee nerd chat but staff wouldn't engage.
Great coffee so the rest not so important but it still helps...
Have been picking up beans for home almost weekly - usually Padre or Daddy's Girl - and look forward to starting every morning with a cup!
And while getting the bean supply for the week, I feel it would be disrespectful NOT to let the Slayer (alright, and the barista!) pour me a beautiful ristretto.
Perfect every time!
