The Brown Engine

Been to this little place a few times, being a barista myself and I don't rate coffee lightly, the coffee is simply amazing. For the equipment they have he does very well. Proves that an expensive fit out and funky theme are a nice but not the be all for a great cup.

An immaculate cafe snuck in middle class Balwyn, which is amazingly clean and tidy. The friendly staff are attentive to detail and the coffee and food is presented to appeal to the eye and the palate. Baby boomers can hear recordings of 1960s pop music played in the background during the weekend. The barista takes care in texturing the milk leaving a neat crema sitting on top of each cup. Although, single origin Colombian bean doesn't mix that well with milk, I'm sure this cafe will seek the elusive perfect blend because everything else is done to perfection.
