Went there pretty much every weekday for twelve months and on average the coffee was good, once a week stellar, once a week pretty good and the rest above average. Found the customer service a bit odd in that I arrived and ordered the same thing every morning within about a 1/2 hour window and every morning they asked what I would like and what my name was. Contrast that with a new cafe at The Junction that knew our weekend order on the second day and it makes a huge difference as a customer.
Simply not good enough. Looks like a place where you get good speciality coffee but my hopes for a nice brew disappeared when the waitress didn't know what I meant with a single origin...
We got out coffees quick, the only good thing about them. The milk was way too hot and my espresso was undrinkable.
Nice furniture and a cozy back area though. This is a place where you could spend a whole afternoon, if you don't care about coffee that is.
Coffee is pretty darn good with a nice atmosphere...when it comes to Beaumont St, it ranks in @ #2 :)
Recently moving back to the area after living in Sydney's Inner-west with some of the best coffee's known to my pallet I have had to search for a new reliable drop. Taking on a friends suggestion to check out suspension I went in to give them a try, I first visited the week before their price increate in november. I ordered my usual picolo latte and enjoyed it greatly. However on subsequent visits the coffee, while still more acceptable than most other coffees I have found in newcastle tasted a little bitter.
The Atmosphere the guys have tried to create is cool, the grungey cafe using furni...
I really enjoy the layout and style of this cafe. Coffee is nicely prepared. I haven't had much success in friendly service - sometimes I find it awkward while placing my order.
