This was a nice hidden gem! Best coffee since leaving wellington 6 weeks ago. The atmosphere is almost getting there... not far off the mark. Of the two people working there, one was friendly and professional, but the other needs a bit more 'get up and go'... Overall a nice joint. Over and out.
I believe cafes shouldn't do too much. If coffee is their specialty, they should stick to it and this is one of those places where you can be certain the coffee won't disappoint you. I ordered a skinny latte and the milk was silky and smooth. Amid the hustle and bustle of a lunch time crowd, it was pleasant to come to this cafe and to sit quietly, meditating over a cup of coffee.

If you want a bit of ethics and fuzzy good feelings of social good with your coffee, check these guys out. Have a look at their website, or talk to the staff about the unique not-for-profit business model. Oh and Koko Deluxe hot chocolate ROCKS!

Rushing past there a few days ago, I reminded myself again that I should check it out this week. This morning, I wandered down McKillop St but found "Social Roasting Company" in it's place. Not sure what the story is, but same set up, just different name. Great fitout, friendly staff and very good coffee (based on the double ristretto I had). I will be back for more.
