Everything about this cafe is exeptional....apart from the coffee. Unfortunate concidering it's my local.
My short black is consistantly burnt and lifeless, sometimes even cold..however the food, service and atmosphere definatly make up for it.
They have a really good breakfast menu but make sure you get there early as there is usally a line in which case take some time to browse the lovely selection of homemade jams, chutneys and take home meals.
I'll keep coming back but I might stick to iced coffee instead!
This place is great (if only a little cold, the space that is) although I want to steal the teacup chandler that hangs over the register... staff were attentive. Coffee is consistently good. They have the best breakfast of ricotta hotcakes with lemon curd and fresh strawberries (the kitchen staff are the original team from replete in Hawthorn).
Only a baby, this cafe has been open for 9 months. It has a roaring trade though. It is a cute setup and quite a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. There is an outdoor seating area- front and back, but also cozy couches and tables inside. The menu offers your usual selection, but is very delicious! Disappointing was the coffee- there was a wait and perhaps this explained its lack of creamy-ness and texture. The coffee is served on old saucers, which give it a unique feel. In its infancy, I'd expect this place to keep booming and for the coffee to improve!

When we ordered our coffee we were told that there was going to be a twenty minute wait as they were extremely busy. Unfortunately, we did wait twenty minutes for a luke warm coffee. It was drinkable but nothing amazing. Did I get my fix? I guess.
